Hey everyone, I apologize if this is a repeat question. I'm going on a Southern Caribbean cruise in July that goes to Barbados, Antigua, St. Lucia, St. Croix, and St. Maarten. The only place I've been before is St. Maarten but I didn't dive there, so I don't know much of anything about any of these islands. My dad and I are both recreational divers, we have most of our own stuff but will probably need to rent BCs. Any recommendations as to which of these islands is best, and if so dive shops that are either local to or provide transport from the cruise port? My non-diving mom and sister would (preferably, not necessary) also like to tag along/snorkel if anyone knows of any shops that will do that.

Thanks so much everyone!

In Antigua I can recommend Jolly Divers. They will take you to Cades Reef which IMHO is one of the best places to see for your first trip. Call ahead to make sure he can meet you and set you up. The non divers could also snorkel Cades but they might need a guide. If they want they may stay on the beach at the dive shop. There is a restaurant called Castaways, chairs, vendors selling everything, jet skis (ick) and a long strand of beach.

Hello, last year i dove with both hightides divers and the "dive shop. Ltd" in barbados. In my humble opinion...i give a thumbs up to the "dive shop,ltd"...the dive shop was more organized and seemed more in tune with the divers needs...and most important...on my last dive vacation, the "dive shop" did not run large "cattle boats". In aug., i will return to dive with the dive shop and i also plan to try out the "barbados blue" divers...hope my input helps.

On that list I would pick St Lucia, if I was limited to just one diving day.
