Hello folks! I posted a separate question to get recommendations for an optimal small size travel camera setup and specifically asked about TG 5/6/7 since this seems to be a good compromise. Except, I had forgotten that I have a Sony RX100IV that I got as a gift!

I never use it since I take photos above water with my phone and I don't have the accessories for underwater. Should I keep it and set it up for underwater? Any compact housing you can recommend? Or sell it and get the TG?

TG series has built-in macro capability, i.e. its lens can focus basically right down to the port. This is its one advantage and one trick - the waterproofing doesn't really matter for scuba usage, as you need to house it anyway. RX100 has, well, everything else that TG is missing. It has a much larger sensor, full manual controls (shutter/aperture/ISO; on TG you can shoot in auto and shutter priority/aperture priority only), much better burst and video capabilities, much better autofocus, etc. It can still do macro as well, you just need an add-on wet close-up lens to allow it to focus closer.

For housing, look at Nauticam or Isotta for maximum compactness; Fantasea, Ikelite or SeaFrogs if you want a budget option. Don't bother with the native Sony housing as it lacks a vacuum port option. The camera is old enough that you might be able to find a second hand option.
