Sony P9 w/ Sea and Sea ys25 DX

Just purchased strobe and did first dive with it yesterday.(ps saw hump back whales) Recycle time on camera was extremely long and only got 14 pics on the battery. camera set at low flash. Strobe was set to 2.8 camera set on auto Any one else using this combo any suggestions.

I have the same strobe for a DX3000G. I got 4 dives with an average of 28 pics per dive on one set of store bought batteries before I switched to re-chargables. Same setting. Cant tell you what the recycle time was as I usually shoot macro and change settings between shots which allows for the strobe to recycle.

Not gonna try to guess what caused your problems, they just seem different from what I got.
