Has anyone any comments on the Sony MPKDVF4?

mpkdvf4.jpg

The MPKDVF4 works to a depth of 75m (246 ft) and controls all the main functions of the TRV15/17/30 camcorders (Via IR). It includes a wide lens, rear LCD, etc. Priced between $3000 and $4000 (US). The HVLML20 Marine pack light. 20 watt power. Uses Info Lithium battery. Priced between $220 and $350 (US).

What is it like to use? Is it worth the price? Why such price differences on the market? How well does the Sony lighting work?

I can't find any usefull info on the web other than limited sales info from various stores. Any links would be appreciated.

Any other alternative housings for a TRV30?

I'll forward this thread to my boss. He is our video guru. Hopefully, he can give you some feedback.

Anybody else have any info on this? Anybody seen one in use and not just in the shop?

Personally I think they are very expensive. Check out housing manufacturers like amphibico, Galtes, Light and motion Ikelite etc.

I think you will find that they have products that are significantly cheaper thanSonys offering
