Don't have the backstory to this photo, just got it from another forum. Trying to find what I can.

Taken from Wiki:
The blue-ringed octopus, despite its small size, carries enough venom to kill twenty-six adult humans within minutes. Their bites are tiny and often painless, with many victims not realizing they have been envenomated until respiratory depression and paralysis start to set in. No blue-ringed octopus antivenom is available yet, making it one of the deadliest reef inhabitants in the ocean.

oh dear....

Got a possible back story, or at least a portion of a possible back story. Apparently the person has terminal cancer, and doesn't expect to be long for this world, anyway.

ETA: Or, possibly some sort of degenerative disease and stuff that causes him near constant pain.

The octopus could be real and dead or, it's a plastic replica.

I'd really hoped to see one when I was in Indonesia but all we saw was a day octopus. I did see a lot of cool things but the blue ringed octopus and mandarin fish will have to wait until next time.
