Solo Bonaire Trip

Hello Scuba Board!

I am planning a trip to Bonaire this year and am looking for recommendations. I'm traveling by myself so renting equipment and going out alone isn't an option. I have my advanced certification, but would be most comfortable paired up with a dive master or at least someone with some dive experience. Does anyone have recommendations for where to stay and how to connect with a group? I haven't purchased my ticket yet and am flexible on dates. Thanks for any advice!

Try going to one of the bigger resorts like Buddy Dive or Capt. Dons Habitat. There are always divers around to hook up with and DMs would easily be available for hire. You should also post your dates in the Lesser Antilles section looking for SB folks who are going at the same time.

Try flying into Curacao and taking a puddle hopper to Bonaire. The puddle hopper cost around 80-100 RT.
Many are saving doing it that way.

Lots of options for flying other than direct flights.
Also could go a day early and stay cheap one night - might save $$$ in the long run!

Hopefully the Invasion trip will workout for you but if not, check local dive clubs and shops for possible planned trips. I know that here in NC there is almost always someone planning a trip. I don't know how common Bonaire trips are in Oregon though.

i also know a condo there that is very safe and is privately owned by a couple that also dive. Beachcomber Villas. The down side is that there would be less contact with fellow divers although Dive Friends is almost next door and they have a board to post divers looking for buddies.

Hope you can work it out. You will love Bonaire!
