Hello everybody!!
I have a small problem to solve... :banghead:
I have Paint shop Pro 8.1 which is supposed to read RAW file.
My camera Canon PS G5 has the possibility to shoot in RAW mode but when I download the pictures the software can not read it. I discover that pictures extension are .CRW instead of .RAW.

Is it normal?
Do I have to change software and maybe use Adobe Photoshop? Any suggestion? :icon_idea

The software which come with the Canon can read them but don't have many possibility to workout the pictures.

Thank you in advance for the help... ;)

downloading...
I will try...and let you know. Thank you

the raw format is a generic term meaning that all of the data coming of the senor that is up to the user to interpet with the aid of a convertor to get the image looking the way they would like it. and note .raw format is only used by adobe programs but im not sure exactly how it acts. most of the "Raw" formats are proprietary to the manufacture thats why they require convertors from the manufactor or third party program.

for example here are some other raw formats
Nikon\fuji = .nef
Canon = CRW, CR2
Olympus = .orf
Sony = .srf (for latest batch of cameras f828)

FWIW

tooth

another program to look at would be the convertor that was given on one of the CDs

I checked in the net and seems that there is not a lot to do except working with the software given by Canon as you are saying.
I will do with that. Then once I converted the file I will play with Paint Shop Pro..

Thank you for your help.
