Hello All

Longtime lurker, first time poster. I've been doing ALOT of reading on this website about Socorro, but I wanted to ask for opinions on which of these two ships are better. I need to make the decision in the next 20 hours as i have a hold placed on the Nautilus Under Sea, and it's otherwise booked up. Both departures are April 17th 2025. Hopefully some of you are chronically online and have an opinion. thanks in advance.

Option 1: Nautilus Under sea. $4335 including VAT and National park fees. Triple room. 9 days 8 nights (maximum 19 dives)
Option 2: Quino El Guardian. $4650 including VAT and National park fees. Quad room. 10 days 9 nights (max scheduled 21 dives but i've heard it's often less)

A few major issues to compare

1. five days of diving vs six days of diving. Under sea has 19 dives packed into five days while the Quino officially has 21 over 6 days (though i've heard it's often less). So similar number of dives on both itineraries? More days is less good for National park fees (which are insane in 2025) but potentially better for off gasing? I'm not a huge fan of 4x dives a day but i'll suck it up for a better company and better trip.
2. Cabin space. I have a hold on the triple room on the Undersea (it's the only space available on the trip). The quino has lots of space available but it's all quads.
3. Quality of ship. Is one easily better than the other?
3. Number of divers. Quino has max 16 vs max 19 on the Under Sea. I've read that less divers is better as it reduces the chances that someone has as medical emergency. I'd probably rather go on the liveaboard that has younger clientele for the same reason.

I haven’t been to the Revillagigedo islands, and I haven’t heard of the Quino El Guardian before. I had an awesome experience with Nautilus aboard the Belle Amie in the sea of Cortez.

I can’t be much help with your specific questions, but I do recommend any trip with Nautilus.
