We have a 50" sailboat (6" draft) for 8 days next month from Raiatea and will also visit, Taha'a, Bora Bora and Huahine with the boat. We have tanks/weights from Hemisphere Sub in Raiatea so they can advise us some on diving there and Taha"a. We are two intermediate and two novice open divers so depth of 60' is enough. We plan to ask for site help when we fill tanks but don't want to pass anything with full tanks because 8 days is too short.

My questions to anyone willing are?

Any suggested "don't miss" dive sites that we can easily moor at on Taha'a, Raiatea, Bora Bora and Huahine?

Does someone here have detailed or GPS site locations?

May Neptune Bless You, Glenn

You might check out this book: Amazon.com: The French Polynesian Dive Guide: Kurt Amsler: Books

It has a lot of info on sites & dive profiles.

The folks at Hemisphere are very nice....you will enjoy working with them. Stephanie was our DM/Guide on both of our trips to Raiatea.

I envy you on a 50' sailboat.....our last trip was on a 300' Clipper and it was awesome!

I just got back from 2 weeks in French Polynesia. Although in the Society Islands I only spent time at Moorea, I would suggest really working with a local. We had a private dive guide for 2 weeks. Check out Tahiti Private Expeditions Rodolphe specializes it yacht tours and is fantastic. His wealth of knowledge about French Polynesia, its dive sites and marine life is amazing...and he is a fantastic videographer.
