Well, when our USD rep. came here to Japan the one he brought said that it was a experimental that got approved. Now at DEMA hearing from my manager he said that it wasn't there, the other cool stuff was but not that one. Maybe they decided to scrap it or their was some problem with it. I also know that when he took it to our competitor store they took it apart and reassembled it. They it's a cool reg. One problem though, it seems to hold water in the one way exhaust which caused some flooding. So that might be it.

I pull a blank page for your link. I haven't heard about any new regs, so I'd be interested in a write-up on it.

I did the AquaLung Master Tech course at DEMA and we got to disassemble and inspect the Kronos. One difference is the exhaust that is vented to the right side. In fact, one must remove the lp (or more correct now the mp) hose to remove the exhaust sleeve. The regulator is so new that the engineers at AquaLung USA did not have any documentation on adjusting the second stage. The first stage is a dry seal overbalance design that is smaller than the Legend and the second stage can be reversed for using the mp hose over the right or left shoulder. It may be true that the exhaust hood could trap water if the head were tilted to the side but I don't know what impact that would have. The AquaLung engineers claim to have used the regulator on a dive and liked its performance.

...well, per the reg review I read, it will be on sale as of January 2007, starting at $ 569.00 and $ 615 for the KRONOS Supreme cold-water version, so it doesn't sound like a failed or abandoned design, but in fact, Aqualung's best reg yet.....it will have the new 1st stage Auto Closure Device, 2 HP and 4 LP ports, and a combined function venturi setting and cracking effort knob ( Dual Cam knob )...and the photograph I've seen appears to indicate a fully metal 2nd stage body, aside from the large purge button on the front. This reg was expecially designed to combine the advantages of bubble-dispersion inherent in side-exhaust 2nd-stages with the advantages of conventional 2nd stages with respect to dry-breathing...the best of both worlds.
