So with the canon s95 in a UW housing, I am assuming you do not have control over the spinner on the LCD side of the camera, and the spinner around the lens on the camera?
If this is true, how does one adjust the aperature/Iso/shutter speed?

Do you have to make shortcuts for each of these keys?
I know (designated by the little pictures) that the UP, RIGHT, DOWN, and LEFT buttons have their own function (I believe right is flash, etc etc)

So how does one change these modes?
thanks

So which housing? Canon housings do have a control for the S-95's front lens ring control and of course a way to change the functions of that ring. Yes , the housing lacks a control mechanism for the camera's rear control ring but the work-around for that is covered in the housing manual--but just barely. You hold the S(hortcut) button down (above & left of rear control wheel) while pressing either the left or right "arrow" keys (ie--Macro or Flash controls ordinairily).

About the only time you would need to mess with that work around approach though is shooting in Manual. I shoot a G10 & G11 in a Canon housing so I have to use that work around, since those cameras lack a front lens ring control. Used an S-95 quite a lot on my last trip and I have to admit, you can pretty much do what you need just using the front ring control on the houisng. If you have a housing other than Canon let folks know, someone who uses what you have will no doubt make suggestions. Doing a search would also probably net you good advice. Nice camera, you'll like it! // ww

Your assumptions are incorrect, with the Recsea and the FIX/Nautica housings both the rear control and the front control are fully operational. On the Ikelite housing and the Canon OEM housing, only the front ring is operational, the rear ring is not and you use the shortcut button to bypass. There is also a hack that makes it possible to duplicate the rear ring function without having to hold the short cut and the left/right buttons at the same time.

You can see the ring control mechanism here on the FIX90, the Recsea95 is the same and the FIX/Nautica 95 are similar:

Shot with FIX90 and dual Inon D2000 strobes in FIX90 housing with the Fisheye UWL-04 fisheye lens:

Not quite what I wanted but getting there, I needed more light up front, less from the back, probably pushing the dynamic range of the S90 a bit but the camera can do it, my fault:

Okay, thanks for the 'enlightenment'

Im hoping to buy the canon s95 + housing, have not done it yet.
2 AL80's are on my top priorities, than the cam ;)

I'm really dying to get a cam though, and from all the time i've spent at best buy, I have nearly mastered the controls of the s95!

Without external strobes, its pretty difficult to take decent pictures that are further than macro?
As I was tooling around with shutter speed, ISO, and Aperature, I noticed that without flash, the pictures will be VERY underexposed.
Any suggestions to compensate for that?
Im assuming slightly raise the ISO, and reduce (increase) Aperature?

(im extremely new at photography so my knowledge is limited, bear with me)
