Need recommendations on what kind of BC to buy. My budget has been blown as I succumbed to temptation and bought a slightly used Atomic Aquatics Ti2 regulator so looking for reliable BC for as little $$ as possible. I've been diving since '84 but not much lately. I am going to Australia for 6 mos for work so have decided to get back into it as I must dive the Great Barrier Reef!

Lots of stuff on Ebay but I haven't been keeping up with what the good ones are anymore and have just rented every time I went diving lately (last time was about 3 yrs ago). I know I'll dive a lot in Australia and that's why I'm considering buying now. Or should I just rent the BC while I'm there?

Any and all suggestions are appreciated!

An inexpensive, but for me, well fitting BC is the Dacor Nautica. Around $175 new. I used one several months ago and it worked well.

I have since purchased a Seaquest Pro QD w/Sur-Lok. Very comfortable, but again, more $$.

If you like to spend your dive looking at starfish, get a side floatation BCD. If you spearfish or grab lobster get a back floatation BCD. The back floatation grew from the popularity of wings but became a favorite with sport divers who want the least amount of drag when submerged and the most stability when on the surface. Check out the Tusa Imprex 4900 BCD at scubatoys.com for $299.95! P.
 
Just got my IDI Advantage in the mail and its sweet as can be. very well built. found it on the internet for 325.00 thats about half price. good luck in your search
