I'm a Fish!
Not that I now as a certified diver would do it but how many have done a snuba trip and what are the takes on it?

My first breathing experience underwater experience was with Snuba- off a tour boat in Maui- It was just fun enough to encourage me to look into scuba. The experience was exciting enough for a newbie but I would not consider doing it now - no. Recommend to a friend who has never dived- sure.

For a non certified diver it is a fun way to experience the underwater world. I wouldn't recommend it for a certified diver.

I did it once in Hawaii before I was certified. It was really cool to be able to be underwater and not worry about my air supply. I got a bad buddy who wanted to go really fast and not look at anything so it could have been better. I still thought it was fun.

ditto. it's what got me into diving. I was never really into water sports before, but snorkeling got me interested, and then snuba kinda clinched the deal. Now as a diver, I'd rather do a full-blown dive, but I'd recommend it to non-divers.

Did it when I was a kid and it was what convinced me to get certified when I was old enough. Wouldn't do it now though.

What level does the snuba guide have to have? Several years ago I heard that they didn't have to be instructors or even dive masters. I never looked into it. The reason I ask is...I might think twice about recommending it until I know...are they qualified, do they have to carry insurance, what training do they have, etc. Since there are the same possibilities for injuries such as lung expansion as with scuba, I would want a professional conducting the dive with any friend or family member of mine.

quiet honestly cuddle I dont know that much about it. Like for example other then obviously the regulator and surface tank Do they even use weights and things like that? Never seen it done

Never tried it myself. I went straight from fish tanks and visits to the aquarium to scuba. :)

I'd like to give it a try though, just to see how it is to dive without a tank on my back...

we watched a group do Snuba while we were eating lunch one day at Hogtown Cafe in Cozumel. It was hysterical. I don't think anyone had a good time or saw a single fish. They were all tangled up and constantly popping to the surface screaming about something. Biggest cluster ******* I have ever seen....:shakehead:
I asked Margaret, owner of Papahogs who was eating with us if that was normal. She laughed and said, yes, that's what they always look like. A group comes every Tuesday there to the reef right in front of Hogtown Cafe. Or at least they used to before the hurricane a few years ago.

I would never do it or recommend anyone do it. It looked unsafe and nothing like diving which is peaceful and serene!
