Hi,

I am going to the Grand Hyatt near Shatti beach Oman this summer. Does anyone know what the snorkeling is like in the area? Can you snorkel from the beach or is it best to go on a boat?

I do most of my diving in the southern areas of Oman, but the diving I've done up north has all been from boats. IME if you find a cove with rocks jutting out to the sea you will almost certainly find coral/fish life on the submerged sections. However, getting out on a boat for snorkelling isn't very expensive, so IMHO it's worth the money to get dropped onto a nice reef.

Cheers,
James
