Hey Divers,
I'll be at Zuma Beach in a week and want advice on any snorkeling that may be available there (flight that evening). Would love to take some fotos along the way.
Any really nearby sites will be considered, but a Zuma event is biggest part of my day.
Thank you,
Tadas

All sand and nothing but sand! Water in the upper 60's green viz about 20ft! Some sand dollars on the bottom a Ray or maybe a sole or Halibut? Have a great day!

Sometimes has large curling waves that slam onto the beach. Very popular with the beach crowd.

Zuma Beach

The way I remember Zuma (at least on the Point) it was one giant wave after another that took you and guided you (scraped you) back in shore along the bottom. Lot's of riptide there as well.
I think there must be better places to snorkel.
Now surfing.. That is a different story.

Try just south of Paradise Cove, it has a great patch reef and is good snorkeling for the area! Sandy bottom out to the patch reef and nice little reef heads that come out of the sand. On a good day the viz can be 30 feet and it would be my pick for one of the best snorkel spots in that area!

Thank you all for sharing your experinces with the Zuma area. I'll shoot for the Paradise Cove area based on all your comments. Yeah ... I wish I was diving, but gotta fly that night & want to prolong my 25 yr streak as a scuba diver!!
