Does anyone know how Smart Trak software figures out the gas consumption- cft/min?

My problem is that it doesnt seem to give a proper figure (unless I am doing something wrong). 1st I have made a few dives that shows on average around .68cft/min on air w/ a 80cu Aluminum( no comments about my consumption please ;) ) I then made a 32% nitrox on a 100cu aluminum- the exact same dive location as always and it gave me a 1.04cft/min consumption- If I lied to the software and said it was a 80cu tank then it showed about the norm .68 I thought it should be even better on nitrox. I email scubapro-uwatec asking about this, but as usual with them, no reply
Now yesterday I did 2 exact same dives as far as location, effort, depth, tank size, ect. there was a 14min surface interval between dives and the 2nd dive was 8 minutes shorter and used about 20psi less - Almost identical dives with SLIGHTLY more consumption on the 2nd- however smart track shows consumption on1st dive at .58cuft/min and 2nd dive as 2.88cuft/min -- 5 times the consumption of the 1st dive

Does anyone know why the differences? in my mind consumption is consumption, it shouldnt matter by tank size ( but the size must be known ), repetitive dive, or anything else should it?
