I have an older Competition Magnum that I bought around 1986, and need new slings (going to the Keys in May). All of the specs I can find online say that it uses 3-9/16" x 22" slings, yet the ones I removed appear to be 1/2" (measured with a ruler). Is it possible the older CM's used 1/2" slings? Is there a way to measure the muzzle to be more clear on what diameter to buy?
