I know, I know.. I should buy a boot for the depth gauge and use the spg with a boltsnap, but in the spirit of streamlining my rig w/out parting from my existing rig, does anyone have any recommendations/advice around using a boltsnap in a DIR config with the mentioned console? (flame expected from the DIR hardliners). Thanks in advance for the input.

You can start by tying a boltsnap on the console hose. Give that a try.

However, very soon you may realize it still isn't too streamline because the console hose is too long. It bows significantly when clip off to hip d-ring. Why? Because I order for you to read the depth gauge in front of you comfortablely and often, HP hose needs to be in 40" range. The usual DIR config you see all have HP hose in 24" range.
