I don't think so. Just in warm water. I think
and freediving are pretty much synonomous. Free diving is evolving into a competitive sport with some pretty phenomenal records being set.
Skin diving can also be called breath hold diving. Often times wetsuits are worn depending on where you are diving.

Skin diving, free diving and snorkeling are all the same, although most who say "snorkeling" are those who have yet to learn skin diving skills.
