Hi All,

Recently purchased a Santi BZ400 undergarment, it's nice and warm and I loved it. Only had around 5 dives in it.

I had no issues diving a BZ200 but with the 400 I find it significantly more difficult to dump air in a timely manner. The usual rolling my "dump shoulder" higher does not seemed to work.

I've tried going out of trim, holding the "dump arm" up, let air collect in the arm, going back in trim and bending the elbow. This will let a rush of air out, but for some reason as soon as I go back in trim, air would collect in my feet  It seemed I have to constantly go out of trim to let air in my feet flow up my arm to dump.

As I've mentioned, none of these issue happen with the BZ200. I was told the Santi 400 is a lot thinner than the competition and shouldn't block the dump valve, thus it's not necessary to tape the arm.

Appreciate any tips and tricks in this!!

That would be my guess . . . also, if you have a lot more thick undergarment on your legs and feet, you are going to tend to be more feet-up, and you may have to change your weight distribution.

I dive a 400g all the time. It takes some practice to keep ahead of the bubble, but in time you'll figure it out. Do a proper weight check, as those things are VERY floaty.

Thanks everyone for pointing out the obvious which I have "obviously" forgot!!!

I have simply added 1kg to my weight and went diving when I switched to the 400g. Never anticipated that they make this much difference that's all.

Just so I have a ball park figure, how much extra weight should I add going to the 400 when diving twin steel tanks? I think I only have 2x 0.5kg of lead left as spares, might need to steal some off a buddy on weight check day.
