Emanuelw it was in south poin the group was attacked so problably it this Evil Eddie caracter.I've searched for wrasse fishes but I can't find that guy.I filmed eddie and i'll take some pictures of the recorded video to post here.Sorry to disapoint you Vie but it wasn't a Megalodon :p

This was the best quality I got from the video.

odd, the silhouette makes it look like a mini napoleon wrasse... you said it was all black and only 25cm? I'm stumped...

This guy wasnt realy black was more like olive. I was searching and it could be a Humphead Maori Wrasse or Napoleon Wrasse like you said Pakman but the teeth don't match

It's definitely not a Napoleon (Cheilinus undulatus)... I'm disappointed that it turned out not to be a baby C. megalodon but I think it could be an adult (terminal phase) clown coris/clown sand wrasse, aka twinspot wrasse, (Coris aygula). These guys usually have light coloured bands on the body but according to FishBase, "large males also become uniformly dark-green and develop a gibbus forehead."

Btw, the juvenile/initial phase of Coris aygula is very pretty.

Haha! Yup! That's him, I fought that little ******* a lot of times, he is the fiercest creature on Sipadan, not even the sharks come near him :) He has three big teeth, the teeth setup reminds me of a titan triggerfish. Animals go crazy at Sipadan once in a while, saw a big napoleon wrasse fight with a big tuna, also quite interesting and a lot of teeth flying in every direction.

Well I found this picture of a clown coris Vie It could be him

No would say a napoleon wrasse, size junior with some issues from a tough childhood. Sipadan is a very competitive society so it's literally survival of the fittest. We should have called this fish Darwin instead of Evil Eddie, but hey...
Btw he doesnt have the stripe the fish in the pic has and I would say he is a replica of a napoleon wrasse. Teeth are cross triggerfish/parrotfish
