Sipadan-Kapalai Dive Resort has anyone stayed & dived here ?

I hear great things about Sipadan itself and my understanding is if you stay a week they guarantee one day & 4 dives in Sipadan. I am concerned I will be bored for the rest of the time as I'm not really into macro stuff. I would be staying at the Kapalai Dive Resort.

It seems a long way from Australia to go for 4 dives and its on the more expensive side. I love Palau and its cheaper but wanted to try something different. Can anyone who has stayed & dived there provide any comments thanks.

Depends when you go. Out of season you may get 3-4 days diving sipidan out of a week, and depends who you dive with as different operators get varying amounts of permits out of the 120 or so distributed. For example, Borneo divers get quite a lot of permits. However if u have picked a busy week you may only get 1-2 days at sipidan. Diving mabul and kapalai is excellent but for macro, so if u don't like macro, of which sipidan also has plenty of, then consider another location for the money u would spend. Sipidan has barracuda, large turtles, some sharks, even hammers, but Palau is much better for Pelagics.
