Hi. Heading to Cozumel for both business and pleasure. Work stuff early in the week and diving on my own when everyone heads home.

Arriving to Cancun on Monday at 6:30am and doing a bag drag with a private car from the airport. Will be with colleague who is also be certified and we would like to try and squeeze in one dive before we have to meet everyone else on the island (around 3pm) that day.

We will not be able to make any of the early AM boats but curious if there were any operators who host a single tank trip around 11am/12pm (maybe even 1pm) ? I'll have my own gear. Friend would need to rent a full setup.

Any help and guidance is greatly appreciated!

Other than chartering your own boat, I'm not aware of anyone that has a 11 am pickup. I saw a picture on the Dressell divers post that showed later dives but I don't know anything about them.

There are multiple operators that do their surface interval at Palancar Beach Club. I have seen divers that did not want to do their second dive for whatever reason take a cab back...maybe you could arrange to do that in reverse. Hop a cab to Palancar and catch the boat for the second dive. It could be a logistical nightmare if you have any delays, and I would expect the dive op to want payment in advance with the understanding that if you aren't at Palancar at 11:15 (or whatever time)you will be left. Equipment rental would not be that big of a deal unless he is hard to fit for a mask or not a normal size for wetsuits. (The water should be 80 degrees so one dive may not even need a wetsuit)

I know Aldora does their interval at Plancar, I think Blue XT Sea does, I know I have seen the Jewfish from Living Underwater, and maybe Tres Pelicanos does too. It's a strange request, and definately not a typical dive accommodation, but maybe....

If you could charter your own boat for a 1 tank dive, that would be the best route to go. They would be waiting for you when you step off the ferry, a short walk to the downtown pier, and you are off. Depending on when you have to be back, you might even squeeze in 2 tanks if you stayed shallow for a short SI. There are those (including me) that believe some of the best diving is at 40 feet.

Good luck, safe travels,
Jay

Aldora now offers afternoon 1 tank dives, into good places of the park. 4 divers minimum reserved by 1 PM, Departure downtown at 2:30 PM. Or 1 tank to the north side minimum 2 divers. North Side will/can include lion fish hunts and some very unique sites never seen down south, including the "love boats" Villa Aldora Wall. This is open to ALL.

In all cases we will be using HP 120 and HP100 tanks for VERY long dives.

I'd go hunting for dinner at the Aldora wall, but I'm funny that way. I'm guessing Chino on the Hurricane will even help clean them if you offer him a few fish to bring home.
Why do a shore dive when you can do a boat dive that is offered?
Unless you are into Macro photog Stuff looking at small stuff with a magnifying glass? I like that too but it has to be with the right group of macro geek chicas. You know who you are! :)

Shore dive because no one has mentioned an op with a boat dive who can meet the needs of the original poster. Aldora responded, but not in a way that met the needs outlined at all - the dive they were talking about left at 2:30 pm. The original poster needs to be back in town at 2:30.

Out late and back early would probably only be possible by charter.
