This is what I use. It works but im not trying to shoot professional looking video. I just record for myself and my family to see where I go sense they dont dive.View attachment 209067View attachment 209068

I assume you haven't used it yet.. That housing does not focus underwater, using it for diving is pointless..

Besides that, mounting the camera so close to the light means it will capture a lot of backscatter.

Ive used it and it seems to work just fine. You can see some vignetting but like i said I'm not looking for professional looking video. As far as back scatter its nothing I have noticed. And as far as being pointless? Hardly I use it to show family members the things I see on my dives. The look of awe in there faces when they get to see things that they themselves can not dive to look at is hardly pointless. But too each their own. If I were going to put any of the video up online id probably care more about how it turned out. But my hero 2 in 720p is good enough for me lol. Oh worth mentioning that in 1080 the vignette is far worse. But the focus seems the same above or below water regardless of settings.

I like that kind of set up, especially when I am out on a lobster hunt. Its really fun to use.

Flat port HERO (left) vs HERO2 stock "curved" housing (right).

You can't tell the difference?

Yes the flat is clearer but not enough for me to waste money on
