I started diving this year (OWD in cold fresh water plus 1 dive, followed by 4 dives in the meditterranean). Will continue diving next spring/summer at home in the fresh water lake and probably do AOWD and the Nitrox certification.
As it turns out, we will be going to Indonesia for 3 weeks next fall as a family and of course it would be stupid not to dive there... But I won't be able to go on a long trip, I want to make my holidays mostly with my family. But it's not problem to take a few days for myself for some dives. Especially in places where there is a nice beach so that the rest of us can hang out there. They don't need tons of attractions to fill the time!
This all means, diving-wise:
-not much experience, especially none with currents
-interested in everything underwater. almost everything is new, interesting, great and a thrill for me.
-if there is one favoured species: any kind of octopus would be heaven ;-)

Looking for:
-probably dive-days with 2-3 dives
-starting point at some place near nice beaches, on a beautiful island or other points where my family could stay without being bored to death in a resort with nothing except diving-stuff
-if this exists: short 2-max. 3 day-safari would be possible, too

Where exactly?
Doesn't matter, holiday-plans are very basic for now, could be anywhere.

I already gathered a lot of information here (sooooooo many great posts and informations, thanks to everyone!) but I find it hard to know what would be nice for my level of diving and the amount of time that I can invest. Thanks a lot!

The two off shore islands from Bali ie. Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Penida.
