Has anyone converted their battery from the massive OEM battery to Power Tool Batteries like the Blacktip DPV's use? I was thinking of mounting 2 of these in the nose cone. Battery technology sure has come a long way the past 10 years. I currently have a hefty paperweight.
which dpv are you wanting to convert? The Magnus is in the wrong voltage range for most power tool batteries which is a bit of a conundrum there, the motor itself is fine but the controller will reject it *tried it....* the other issue is getting them in and out and get all of the lead in the sled to balance everything out. You can do it, it's been done, but it's a lot of work. IMO you are better off getting with @Jona Silverstein who is making drop-in lithium replacements for all of the smaller silent submersion dpv's.

If you are talking about the UV series, Dakota Lithium has batteries that can be run in series and will drop right into the UV18. Some minor adjustments and you can get 4 of them into the UV26. You do have to add a bucket of lead though since the unit will still displace the same amount of water.
