Hi

Is the shutter button for Canon Housing a direct contact spring-loaded mechanism? Meaning you press downwards directly onto the camera's shutter button? As opposed to one which has a lever on a pivot? I find that the direct-press down button a little hard to use when u need to do a half-press to focus. Always end up shooting without focusing. Thanks for any info.

It's a direct/indirect contact - there's an extension arm on the bottom vertical button assembly. This is to clear the zoom control. So I guess the end result is a little less feel for the focus setting. If you shoot mostly wide angle, try using manual focus - just eyeball it. After a while, you'll get a feel for distance like using a Nikonos lens.
