Wife is short (5'-2").... I'm fearing for the life of my Oxy30 with her and the hp80 tanks she uses.

Any suggestions for a shorter singles wing (30# for cold water and wet suit)?

Thanks.

Yeah I had that issue with my 40lb Halycon single tank wing and my HP80s.

The VDH wings are substantially shorter than the oxycheqs. Downright tiny.

um.... no...I own VDH wings....

Yeah, I really like them too... but you are spreading misinformation..

#23 wing deflated, 14" W X 20" L X 3" tall.....Inflated 16" W x 22" X 5" tall
35# wing, Deflated 23.5" L x #14" W x 3" tall Inflated 24" L X 14" W X 5" tall

The VDH 35 (so a 30# equivalent as the 23# is no going to cut it) is 24" x 14" (from the VDH Store website), which is exactly a match to the OxyCheq MachV....

Which is why I continue to use my Scubapro Classic Stab Jacket whenever I use my Sherwood Genesis/PST HP 80: I was never able to find a wing short enough to use with either my DiveRite Al back plate or my SS Freedom Plate. I wasn't able even to find a U-shaped wing that works.

By the way, a SSJ + HP 80 is quite a nice package (for me).

My wife is the same height.

She is over the moon with her DGX Gears singles wing.

Before I look for a shorter wing, I intend to get her a short plate. I think that’s more determinative than the wing.

OT but related - nobody I’ve called has HDG HP80s in stock.

@NothingClever ,

The issue is, the HP 80 is approx 20" tall, and most (all?) wings are at least a couple of inches taller than this. So, a wing--especially a doughnut wing--is likely to be holed by either having the HP 80 standing on the wing, or being pinched between the HP 80 and something else.

Having a short plate (or not) does not address this issue.
