I have the opportunity to locally buy a used Sherwood Outback with the optional Akona SS back plate at a really great price. I dive only singles with the occasional pony bottle for now and I think that I would likely move to a BP+W if I needed doubles although the outback + BP can handle them in theory. I am putting together my rig so I can stop renting but I am on a budget and this seems worth it for just under half what the cheapest BP+W rig would cost. Any thoughts?

If I remember correctly the Outback had 55 lbs of lift. The set up is not bad, but the D-rings are not adjustable. The back plate works ok but it is not in the same category as a BP wing and the system relies on severla nuts and bolts that can come loose.

It is a crossover rec/tech BC, an animal that did not last long as it did neither job particularly well. it will work with doubles and stability wise is not bad but not as good as you get with a BP and harness.
