I recently got a Sherwood Magnum Blizzard with octopus. My questions are:

a). The octo that came with it says Sherwood, but is not branded with a model name or anything. Is it of equal cold-water capability? Is it a Magnum Blizzard but with yellow plastic, or something else?

b). Are both the 1st and 2nd stage a "Magnum Blizzard" or do they have different model designations - such as the ScubaPro MK25/S600 combo?

I recently had this stuff serviced (picked it up today actually) and will be diving with it tomorrow :)

Cheers!

Can you post a picture of the octo?

If the second stage does not have metal vanes in it it is not a blizzard second. It is the standard sherwood second stage. Reliable, bulletproof, and other than the vanes of equal quality to the primary second. The vanes help to trap moisture and heat from your exhalations to prevent freeze ups. I have several sherwoods including two shadow octos. They all use the same rebuild kit and the faceplates are interchangeable. I have a yellow one on my deco bottle set up.
