I recently purchased a used Sherwood Brut to use as a pony reg. I have read and been told that Sherwood regs are by design supposed to have a small air leak. There is what looks like a black rubber or plastic plug in an LP port on the 1st stage. There is a small stream of bubble that come from this when in the water. Just wanting to check and confirm that this is indeed to right location for the bubbles to be coming from.

-Thanks

Yep, that's the air bleed. Sherwoods are also pretty bullet proof. I've been diving a Brut and a Blizzard for 20+ years.

Just be aware that if you do not keep the 1st stage pressurized when underwater (salt)water will enter and clog the internals.......depending on how you use the pony, a Sherwood might not be the best choice for this application.
