Has anyone or is anyone able to measure the distance between the transmitter and computer before you get a "no comms" warning? The manual states three feet, but I'm not getting that far. I have two units. One has a significantly shorter distance than the other before the "no comms" warning.

Is anyone able to get more than 32"?

(Give or take 1-2" depending on where the Tx antenna actually starts.)

Switch batteries between the swifts, I had a deal battery in less than 6 months.

Shearwater requested to send them in for inspection and repair. Fairly painless international overnight shipping both ways but I feel like I had to stay on top of them while they had them.

Short answer is Shearwater states 36" and that is what the standard is in or out of the water. One of my computers had a bad antenna so that was repaired.

Both computers and transmitters were sent to Shearwater without any accessories and arrived in new cases with all accessories, so that is a bonus I didn't expect.

Overall I'm happy with the service and would buy Shearwater again.

I haven't measured it but I do know the labelled distance is line-of-sight only. I run a transmitter for my oxygen bottle on my CCR, and I had to put a HP hose on the regulator and move the transmitter in front of me for both my computers to read it (Petrel 3 and Perdix AI).

The O2 valve/regulator is behind my right hip, and the Petrel 3 is on my left wrist. Body would routinely block transmission and/or cause reflections that would cause issues on my Petrel 3, but the Perdix AI was still reading fine.
