Of course. Various type of AA size batteries can be used. I too like many others use the Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries.

Don't EVER use Duracell Alkaline AAs. They have a tendency to leak and will require an expensive repair if that happens. I don't use Duracell Alkaline AAs in ANYTHING.
Funny you should say that... Just last night the smoke detector in the bedroom began to chirp every 30 sec. Replaced the batteries today and one had split at the end and leaked stuff. And it was indeed a Duracell Alkaline AA. Didn't damage the smoke detector, but I wouldn't have been happy if it had been in my Perdix.

In fairness, that set of AAAs had been in the detector for ca. 5 years (the batteries are back-ups since the detectors are hard-wired).

I wasn’t satisfied with the bungees I had on both Perdix. The fisherman’s knot wasn’t holding when stretched a lot and the bungees were a bit too short. Redid them both. Added an overhand knot on top of the fisherman’s knot to keep it more secure. Didn’t come undone when I really pulled on them. Used two separate bungees this time, as well. Wanted them secure for ice diving class this weekend.
