Thanks. Glad you enjoyed the video. I managed to get back on the first trip of the season this year (Nov.) Not incredible action but still a great time partiularly since its in our back yard so to speak. YouTube - socorro 082.wmv

The Shark Research Institute goes there to sat tag the pregnant whale sharks and also radio tag the hammerheads usually in December. You can be a volunteer diver and participate on their liveaboard. It's really takes it to another level to dive with a purpose. Club Cantamar provides the boat for the SRI for their research trips. They also do dive trips for more tourist type dives.

We saw the operation this Nov. with the British expedition. Looks like you best need to use CCR. Do you know when the viz at Roca Partida improved this year.

Unfortunately, I was not able to do this trip, airfare was way too expensive, especially when the liveaboard for 10 days wasn't cheap. I hopefully will be going out with them in 2009. The British Expedition was a precursor for the December trip. The British Special Forces are a great help for the SRI in gathering data and assisting with our tagging programs. It's a win win situation, they get great training, and in return, we continue to gather data from their efforts! Andy Reid heads that expedition. He was our photographer on the Whale Shark expedition in the Sea of Cortez December 2007.
