HOW NOT TO BECOME SHARK BAIT
Premiering Tuesday, July 29, at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
Sharks may have a bad reputation, but you actually have a very slim chance of being attacked by one. A thrill-seeking team with a purpose -- escapologist Jonathan Goodwin, former lawyer turned Survivor: Cook Islands winner and adrenaline junkie Yul Kwon, marine biologist Jeremiah Sullivan and scientist Dr. Marty Jopson -- travel to the Bahamas to test shark attraction theories on lemon, tiger and Caribbean reef sharks, focusing on the sensory perception of sharks including colors, vibrations, smells and other attractors. In the process, viewers learn strategies for staying safe when in the water.
Anyone watch shark week ? last night they had a eposode from grand Bahama. The Discovery Channel used the Under Water Explores in Lucaya Christina and Niall on the Sea Explorer they went to Tiger beach on the west end and Shark Junction it was interesting to see my friends from UNEXSO and some shots around the island. The theme was what does it take to get a shark to bite you? with the tiger sharks they stayed inside cages (wise choice) and with the carribean reef sharks at shark junction it took a lot of work to get one to bite the diver from the Discovery Channel in chainmail they could't seem to provoke them
they did seem to prove sharks are attracted to contrasting colors as 2 divers went down with fish tubes full of herring both were wearing chainmail and one was all in black the other was in a bright clown suit, all the sharks went for the clown suit which either means they are attracted to bright colors or......... they just like clowns. this section of shark week was filmed last April when I was there.
