Hi,

I work as a technician on products which also include underwater hull mounted parts and is quite experinced on hull-diving in the more peacefull waters in Scandinavia.

But a job has come up on the eastern coast of Africa (i look forward to dive here) around the Horn of Africa - a water i'm somewhat unexperinced with.

I have been searching the internet for information about dangers (sharks and other animals) but has not been able to find any.

Does any one have some clues where to look?

Kind regards

I'd be more worried about being shot, blown up or kidnapped.

You might want to check with the whatever government agency handles international relationships in your area, and see if they have any thoughts about the area you'll be working in.

Quite a bit of that region is extremely unstable, and law consists of "who has the most guys and the best weapons".

hejsan Heb, contact the swedish elasmobranch society they will give you great advice on shark questions and/or connect you with people who are experienced with diving in shark waters in the horn. They are a relatively new organization but are connected and hard working, always willing to help.Their scandinavian name is Den Svenska Hajforeningen. Also look up The natal Sharks Board, they are expert on sharks in the horn area.Last but not least,Dalhousie Univ. in Canada has maybe one of the best groups of dedicated young shark specialists in the world. They are well connected and can give you web sites or people to contact who can be of help.Good luck, Good diving and don't be so worried about dangers from sharks......a little research and knowledge about them will put you at ease. DET AR BARA ATT AK.....Ingemar stenmark
