I am thinking of taking a year off and just dive! As my heading says, its stands between
Belize and Seychelles, but since I do not know much about diving in any of the spots I reach out to the elite on Scubaboard.

Where would you spent a year diving and why? Where would I find the best diving?!

Thanks!

I hate you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A year to dive.... I have a difficult time taking two weeks!

Although my experience is not as recent as I would like, the diving in Seychelles was better, in part because it is the Indo-Pacific with a greater variety of critters, and in part because it is more pristine. But the diving infrastructure is not nearly as developed in Seychelles (nor is tourism in general).

Since most of your time will be spent out of the water, other factors to consider:
Seychelles is at the end of a longer supply chain, so most things are more expensive.
Seychelles government is more socialized. Do not criticize the government, or you might find yourself persona non grata.
Seychelles is a smaller, less populated, less developed country.
Both are former British colonies and English is widely spoken, but more so in Belize.

Why not spend a month in each before you decide? I'd do Belize first, simply because it is cheaper to get to. If you do Seychelles first, and decide that's where you want to return, you'll have two expensive trips to the antipodes.

enjoy
