So now I'm totally confused on if I wanna go with the canon housing or the ikelite housing. Then i can't decide if i should go with a macro lens or WAL. I think I've decided that I'm gonna hold off on the strobe for a while till i get the funds to get one of the better ones.

You'll want the strobe when you start adding lenses especially.

Make sure the housing you choose accepts add on lenses - some of the Canon housings for certain models have an oval port and do not readily accept add on lenses.

This is one of them.

You should look at jamdivers gallery and/or pm him. He has an A610 with the Canon housing, and his photos are outstanding.

Yes, if you want to add extra macro lenses and the WA then you need to really look into the Ikelite.

However, this is a fine little camera in the Canon housing and it will let you grow into taking some very nice images just by itself...especially once you add a strobe :) I second checking out Jamdiver's images - beautiful.

Ya i just sent a PM to him. Thanx. Man this board is 10 times better than any other diving forum I've tried. I posted threads on like 5 other boards 3 days and still have not recieved reply yet.

B&H Photo is closing out the IK6140.62 Ikelite housing for the 610/620 for $249.

At that price, there is no comparison, go with the Ike housing.

I just ordered mine, total with shipping was $258.
