I am planning on purchasing an ATX50/ATX 40 combo sometime in the near future, from dive inn. The one thing I am concerned with is haveing the regs serviced. Would I be correct in assuming a Sea Quest dealer should be able to service the regs?

I think the answer is yes...but it would be worth calling around to your local shops to confirm it......and avoid telling them you will be buying from diveinn ;-)

I used to live in Cincinnati (Evendale) -- it's a nice city.

Apeks regs are distributed in the US by SeaQuest and any SeaQuest dealer should be able to service them. Part of any LDS's business is equipment service and if they are an authorized dealer/service center for a particular brand they should service it regardless of where you bought it.

I just bought that same combo of Apeks regs from DiveInn. They delivered it quickly and the merchandise is beautiful... expect to get a bill from customs for the duty though, 4.2% of the total purchase price. Still a bargain, but worth noting.

In regards to service, the warranty card was already filled out for me (in Spanish) with the LDS listed as Technomar Diving, based in Barcelona.

It would seem that any AQUA LUNG dealer should be able to help with service on the Apeks reg as they are associated with SeaQuest ... Apeks etc....

In fact we just purchased an Aqua lung Legend for my wife and you could tell it was very similar to the Apeks ATX200 .... from first stage design to the second. I was told that apparently Apeks engineers helped with the design of the new Regulator line to Aqua lung. She liked/wanted the ATX200 (which is what I dive and absolutely amazed with).....but the Legend was right there in every means and the price was a little easier to take.......

I can't speak for the US, but here in Canada, Aqua Lung said that any aqua lung/seaquest/apeks/usd dealer should be able to service an Apeks reg. The parts are available to any dealer.

And yes, the design of the legend is very similar, but a little lighter. Legend is an awesome breathing reg and will give you decades of good service if well cared for.
