Hopefully narcosis won't be an issue for the OP. Yes I agree one shouldn't make generalisations about narcosis at all. I.e. if someone where to say they don't get narcosis at all and therefore the whole concept is overblown. That would be a generalisation that is not useful I believe.

I think the thing with narcosis though, is that many people do not realise they are narced, until something goes very wrong. And they have to try and figure out a solution whilst impaired. Narcosis is a spectrum of symptoms, some serious, some not so.

Would it be a generalisation or a generalization?

Generalisation for me and generalization for you I imagine, given our nationalities.

Very possible if you use the British form of spelling the word.

Yes.

Might be a good idea to actually make sure you are pointing out a spelling mistake correctly, before you make a post on it :) Here is something to help you out: American and British English spelling differences

Oh yes, and we use metric here too! :)

I never said it was a spelling mistake, I had hoped you guys had learned to spell it the more scientifically accepted method by now.

:rofl3::rofl3: :hijack: I got stuck using a depth gauge w/ meters and an spg with BAR on one dive - it might be simpler math but it sure confused the hell out of me ..... now if they only had a depth gauge in yards

I had a buddy who ordered a computer on-line somewhere and got it just before a trip. So we are getting ready to go out diving that morning and he turns it on just to make sure it works. It comes on and he turns it off. So we jump in the water and head down. A couple of minutes later he checks his computer and he has a most puzzled look on his face. The reading he was getting was nothing like what he expected. I swim over and couldn't figure it out either at first. Then we both realized it was set for metric. He pulled out his user manual during the surface interval and corrected the problem.

A couple of years later I got a new computer and checked it when it came in the mail and sure enough, it too was set for metric. I guess it depends on where they are made as to how it's set. I would imagine soon enough they will all be made in China.

I can always tell when someone has no valid argument after a disagreement when they choose instead of focus on my spelling and grammar. Dude, take a chill pill. People are going to disagree with you (on that topic, narcosis is real btw). Don't get all snarky when they do so. Or if you can't help it, stop posting on the internet :D

Great advice. Hopefully you will learn to follow it yourself instead of trying to keep ideas and posts already discussed from other threads alive on new threads. :shakehead:

I believe narcosis was one of the topics under discussion here... but anyway, I find it boring, immature and irrelevant having someone question me on my spelling, especially when it is correct so I'm done with this stupid diversion. Sorry to others who had to read this banality. Maybe the mods can delete it?
