Just wanted to make readers aware of a little-known Italian brand that I have bought several suits from. Sepadiver (www.sepadiver.com) is located in Trieste, Italy. They sell all manners of diving equipment (including very inexpensive BP/wing combos), but their best feature are their exposure suits. The prices given on their site are attractive to begin with, but if you order several items (e.g. by pooling with friends) they will happily give you a better deal.
I currently own the following Sepa suits:
- 7 mm farmer john and jacket. You can get them with or without a zipper for the jacket, depending on how much protection you want and whether you mind some contorsions getting in and out of your suit. I chose the zipper.
- A Foka dry suit, compressed neoprene, with front entrance and diagonal zipper, essentially a copy of a DUI design. The quality is excellent. It has an Apeks inflator and purge valve. This cost me about 700$...
- A 3 mm tropical suit, nothing fancy but still a steal at 60$ (at least by European standards).
I recently ordered a semi-dry suit for my son, priced at about $200. When it was delivered, we realized that the S size was in fact way too big for him. They took it back and adjusted it at no charge - we just had to pay for the shipping. I was amazed, as he essentially got a fitted suit for the price of a rack size.
Anyway, a great outfit, and highly recommended. I don't know if they ship to the other side of the pond, but within Europe it is a nice alternative to overpriced brand names.
