I just got my A95 w/ Canon Underwater housing and I took it into the pool to practice. I couldn't see a dang thing in the LCD because it was too bright even with the hood on. All I could see was my reflection.

Plus, at night I couldn't see anything in the LCD because it was too dark.

Any suggestions? I don't want to get into Puget Sound viz and not be able to see anything w/ the LCD.

Hi Grey,

I have no idea how it isn't bright enough at night -- that LCD should be just about bright enough to use for a flashlight, even with all black on there. Are you sure it was being pointed at something lit?

As for the pool -- did you change the angle at all? As in, don't look at it right straight on, but 10-15 degrees off? That might help.

I haven't had a problem with an A80...

Grey,
If it was a bright day you sometimes won't be able to see the LCD at the surface. For instance if I go snorkling around here, it's hard to see during the day. Once you get a more feet underwater diving you should be able to see it better. As for the not seeing it at night problem, you will need a spotter flashlight, it doesn't have a night mode like some video camcorders. If you are using a flashligh and it still doesn't show up...maybe its broken :11:
