Hi I'm new to the board, and have been reading alot about others getting seasick. I hate to say it, but it's nice to see that I'm not alone. In that I mean that I thought I was the only person going out on dive baots and getting sick and not able to dives sometimes on a regular basis.
My problem is this. I'm not sue if I am gettig seasick. For the most part, I have NEVER puked when on a dive baot. The problem is not usually in my stomach. It's in my head. I start getting dizzy, and lightheaded, and kinda feel the everything is spinning. When that happens the best thing for me is to lie down and close my eyes, praying to fall asleep.
I have tried Drammamine-didn't help, Bonine-didn't help, the patch-didn't help, Sea Bands-didn't help. I have also tried using different combinations of these together. Sometimes were better than others. But EVERY time I'm on a boat I get sick. Once the boat stops, it's starts to get to me. If I'm lucky enough to gear up and get into the water I start to feel instantly better. But then I start to think about it at the end of dive, especially hanging on the anchor line and it starts to creep up on me again.
By that time I can barely climb the ladder and have to try and quickly strip my gear off and then lay down again. This by the way TOTALLY SUCKS!!!! That's why I'm not sure if it's more in my head than anything else. Anyone have this problem?
