How come searches for "DIR" return search results, but searches for "SAC" returns the following?

Code:
The search term you specified (SAC) is under the minimum word length
 (4) and therefore will not be found. Please make this term longer.

There's heaps of three letter acronyms that should be searchable - I just had a search for "hot water" fail because "hot" is under the minimum word length.

Can the search parameters be loosened up a little please? It used to accept any three letter words.

Our databse only indexes words 4 characters or greater in order to make it well, work. The indexing process currently takes about 12 hours so you can see the basis for concern. As for those few special terms, we added a few words after the indexing that are picked up when posts are made or updated but are not fully indexed. Clearly some terms are very common and very important so leaving them out would make searching hard to do.

Okay, can SAC be added to the list of special terms for indexing then please? :)

I will add it, but, as with the other 3-letter terms it will only be indexed on new or updated posts, older threads may not show the term as we can't rebuild the index without closing the board for half a day!
