Anyone know anything about Seaquest Inifinity series regulators? I don't think they are sold anymore. Did Apeks make regulators for Seaquest within the last five years? Thanks.

Seaquest is the distributor of APeks regs. Apeks did not make the Infinity series. Also, I wouldnt pay money for any Seaquest reg... Not worth it. Get yourself an Apeks, you will be MUCH happier, and not dissapointed.

The Infinity is a not-very-stellar piston reg with a swivel. Parts are still availble for overhauls, but I agree that you shouldn't spend money on one. The only SeaQuest reg worth buying, IMO, would be the Spectrum, which is identical to the SEA or Cousteau. But don't pay too much for one. Second stages are similar to the old SEA regs. Made by the same company, Air Liquide or Spiro, I forget which, and owned by USD. Or they are the parent company of USD. Whatever.

I actually have a Seaquest Infinity second stage. It's made in France by Spiro. It looks almost exactly like a U.S.Divers/Aqualung Conshelf 20/21/SE/SE2..., except the poppet, nylock, and the allen hole on the service plug are all metric, the exhaust valve is oval, and the "box top", or grille, is a little more stylish. There's also some little fins in the mouth-hole that my conshelfs don't have. My USD tools (the poppet holder-downer, and nut adjuster) do not fit. The poppet does not have a screwdriver slot in the end to keep it from rotating while the nut is turned. Instead, the poppet stem is square, and it keeps itself from turning! (...So that's why the poppet hole in the plastic conshelf's are square!) Most of the parts are interchangeable with the plastic conshelfs. It performs every bit as well as they do. Maybe a little better, thanks to the large oval exhaust valve (and fins, whatever it is that they do).

I don't have a seaquest 1st stage, and know nothing about them.
