I have had two SeaLife Cameras - a 600 and a 1200. The 600 came with a SeaLife Strobe and the 1200 came with a Sealife Strobe and Video Lite. Unfortunately, I no longer have either camers; the 600 flooded and died (operator error) and the 1200 floated away in rought seas (also operator error). So I have two each SeaLife Video Lites and Strobes. My daughter also has a Canon S90 with Canon UW Housing. I have purchased a Dyron Macro Lens and a Inon Wide Angle lens that both fit the Canon with an Dyron adapter. I am beginning to broaden my capabilities, but my daughter and I are novice photographers; I just started to experient with the WB mode in the SeaLife. So my delimma is I need a second UW Camera to replace the 1200, one for me and one for my daughter. I still have not decided upon that second camera, either a Canon S100, SeaLife 1400 or wait until after the DEMA show and see what might be offered as the newest versions.
My question to SB is, "Has anyone used SeaLife Strobes on a non-SeaLife Camera, i.e. S100)? All of my strobes and video lights work great. If I go with the Canon, how functional are the Sealife Strobes on it? I know that SeaLife makes an adapter for strobes, but how well does it work? Since we are just novices at this point in time I really don't want to go out and buy a new Strobe set-up if not necessary.
Thanks SB,
~Michael~
