I guess for me it's a matter of value. Would I pay that? I can't honestly say.

But, that being said, Apollo has put a great deal of engineering and innovation into this mask. The stainless steel frame will eliminate most broken frame or frame dutability issues. They, like many manufacturers are using the highest grade of silicone available to offer the best fit possible on the widest variety of face sizes. They've changed the angle of the lenses to give the most natural ergonomic position on the mask and have easily come out with the lowest volume mask to be introduced in a long time. This is giving an between 120 and 180 degree field of view out of the mask.

So, for the most part, the value lies with each person. Surprisingly, there has been a pretty good response thus for to this mask even at it's price.
