I've been looking for reviews for Seac Modular BCD and couldn't find anything online (probably because it's relatively new to the market), eventually I plunged in and ordered one and thought I'll share my first impression, maybe it'll help someone in the future.
I wanted to buy Zeagle Express Tech at first but they're only available with 44lbs bladder in the UK for some reason, with is huge.
So Seac has arrived and I just can't find any reason not to like it. It has donut bladder 30lbs, adjustable harness with removable shoulder pads, double tank straps, soft backplate (there seem to be some plastic or something rigid inside, you won't be able to roll it) with steel frame (presumably this will will add extra stability). I don't think I will ever need to, but apparently you can fit other steel or whatever plate with it, it has standard gauge eyelets. It seems well made from strong material and has aluminium d-rings. It came with two small weight pockets which will hold enough for me, and split saddle crotch strap, both are removable.
It's minimalist and good looking, disassembles quickly and packs pretty much flat and weighs <3kg so great for travel. Price was very good too, at GBP250 including delivery from Italy. I'm only recreational tropics diver so it should cover all my needs.
I'm taking it diving in two weeks so hopefully I'm still happy after that
