Very likely another one has been discovered. What appears to be a new type of eel was videoed in July but until one can be captured and examined they will not know for sure. It is a very special cave.
 
Is this as bad as it sounds? Queva Quabrata's main entrance is there. Quabrata is currently one of the longest caves in Mexico and a new species was just found in this cave.

Major tourism projects set for state coast
For me as an environmentally conscious cave diver, this is a very very bad thing.
We used to visit Cozumel semi annually, then annually and then biannual. Love the place, love the people especially, but too much 'progress' is too much.

I hope they stay away from the cave and also don't have a dolphin exhibit or anything else like that. I can see where getting people interested in the marine environment is a good thing but I hope this is done in a responsible manner.
