Sea&Sea port for new Nikkor 105 VR

I just splashed out and brought myself the new Nikon 105mm VR lens to use on my little D50 with sea&sea housing. The bummer is that sea&sea haven't brought out a new port for the VR (yet??). Can any one tell me if the new 105 VR lens will fit into the old sea&sea 105 port.

We have the new DX port & focus gear in stock.

The lens can be used in a standard or custom flat port with an SX extension ring with slight modification, but no Manual Focus is possible.

Ryan, please correct me, but I am under the impression that the standard port needs to me slightly modified buy removing the "nub" that sits inside the port next to the glass then use the ext ring with that.

Question? can the Ext Ring 40 work with that Standard Port for the 105 VR?

I hope to be the proud owner of the 105 soon and hope to modify existing ports.

Hi John,

In some cases, yes, the "nub" needs to be shaved down slightly.

EXR-40 wouldn't require any modification to the port, but would leave about 1.5cm of dead space in the end of the port.
